UNESCO | Deep Surfaces

For UNESCO’s “Deep Surfaces” exhibition, designed and conceived by GiòForma and selected as a Collateral Event of the 19th International Architecture Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia, we produced two video projects designed to guide and engage visitors in a visual experience where space and storytelling meet.

The exhibition, organized by UNESCO in partnership with the Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU), explores how architecture can shape the way we experience the world’s most treasured heritage sites. Deep Surfaces presents over 50 examples of innovative visitor centre designs from UNESCO World Heritage sites, Biosphere Reserves, and Global Geoparks.

We produced two original videos for the exhibition:

1. Exhibition Guide Video – An introductory film designed to help visitors “read” the exhibition. Through motion graphics and infographics, it explains the curatorial structure and the various installations along the exhibition path.

2. UNESCO Sites Presentation Video – A panoramic, cinematic journey showcasing all the UNESCO-designated sites featured in the exhibition. The video celebrates the diversity of landscapes, architectures, and stories that define our shared global heritage

Authored and conceptually curated by Mauro Belloni, the videos serve as key narrative elements within the exhibition, providing clarity, emotion, and rhythm to the visitor experience.
They help transform Deep Surfaces into a multilayered visual journey, connecting architecture, storytelling, and heritage preservation in a single immersive experience.
